AI for Engineering
AI that lives inside SOLIDWORKS, 3DEXPERIENCE and your PLM, not in a separate chat window. We help you adopt the AI Virtual Companions that now ship with SOLIDWORKS, build customer-specific agents on top of them, and turn the knowledge of your best engineers into logic that runs on every project.

Generic AI tools can write an email about a bracket. They cannot produce a bracket that passes your drawing checker, uses your material codes and lands in your PDM vault released. That gap is where our practice works. We combine the AI now built into SOLIDWORKS — Design Assistant, Drawing Assistant, Simulation Advisor and the 3DEXPERIENCE AURA assistant — with rules engines, SOLIDWORKS API automation and your own engineering data, so that a request stated in plain language becomes a model, a drawing, a report or a check that an engineer would sign.
- SOLIDWORKS AI Virtual Companion adoption: setup, training, governance
- Customer-specific agents that know your products, standards and data
- Intent-led automation: a sentence or a form becomes a model and drawing
- AI-assisted design and drawing review against your checklist
- BOMs, dimensions and specifications extracted from legacy PDFs and scans
- Knowledge-based engineering: calculations and rules encoded once
- Engineering copilots that answer questions from your own data, on your infrastructure or in your tenant
- Measured in engineering hours saved, reported monthly
Practical AI, measured in hours an engineer gets back
Quote-to-CAD in minutes
For engineer-to-order products, an agent takes the enquiry, applies your rules and produces the general arrangement, weight and cost before sales has finished the call.
Nothing leaves unchecked
Models and drawings are reviewed against your standards, DFM rules and cost drivers automatically. Reviewers spend their time on judgement, not on missing dimensions.
Thirty years of drawings, searchable
Legacy drawings, scans and PDFs become structured BOM and attribute data, so the archive stops being a cupboard and starts being a database.
Four service lines, one practice
Start with the one that matches your bottleneck. They share the same rules engine, the same data layer and the same team, so the second one is cheaper than the first.
SOLIDWORKS AI enablement
Get the value out of what is already in your licence.
- Virtual Companion setup and governance
- Prompting and workflow training for designers
- Data-privacy and IP review for cloud assistants
- Usage measurement and roadmap
Intent-led design automation
From a specification to a released design without a designer re-drawing it.
- Rules capture with your senior engineers
- Configurator and agent build on the SOLIDWORKS API
- Drawings, BOMs, cut lists and costs generated with the model
- PDM / 3DEXPERIENCE and ERP hand-off
AI-assisted review
Standards, DFM and cost checks before release.
- Drawing checker: dimensions, tolerances, title blocks
- Model checker: modelling practice and feature health
- DFM and cost-driver flags during design
- Reports that feed back into training
Intelligent data extraction & copilots
Your archive and your know-how, answerable.
- OCR and extraction from drawings, scans and PDFs
- Classification and clean-up before PDM rollout
- Copilots over your own product data, on your tenant
- Human verification built into the pipeline
Proof of value first, platform second
We do not sell an AI platform and then look for a use. We take one task, prove the saving, and expand from there.
Discovery
A Workflow Discovery Call maps where the repetitive engineering effort lives and what data exists to feed it. Output: a one-page opportunity list with hours and risk against each.
Proof of value
One use case, fixed price, four to eight weeks. A working agent or automation on your real data, with the hours saved measured against a baseline.
Production
Hardening, integration with PDM, 3DEXPERIENCE or ERP, governance and training. Human sign-off points designed into the workflow.
Expand
The rules engine and data layer are reused for the next use case. Monthly reporting on hours saved; retainer or per-output pricing.
Built by engineers who automate CAD for a living
Our AI practice grew out of SOLIDWORKS API, design-automation and PLM work. We understand the geometry, the data model and the release process, which is why what we deliver produces usable models and drawings rather than demos.
- Rules and knowledge captured with your engineers, not inferred by a model
- SOLIDWORKS API, 3DEXPERIENCE web services and modern AI frameworks in one team
- Your IP stays in your environment: on-premise models or your own cloud tenant where required
- Every AI-assisted output has an engineer sign-off step by design
- Hours saved baselined and reported, so the business case stays honest
- Concile’s own agents built on the SOLIDWORKS AI Virtual Companions, available as products
Questions we get asked most
What is the difference between this and the AI already in SOLIDWORKS?
The Virtual Companions in SOLIDWORKS 2027 help an individual designer: suggesting features, generating drawing views, advising on simulation setup. Our practice helps the company: capturing your rules, connecting the AI to your data and systems, and automating whole workflows end to end. The first is included with the licence; we help you use it well, then build on it.
Will our designs be used to train someone else’s model?
No. Where we use a cloud model we configure it so your data is not retained for training; where that is not acceptable we run models in your tenant or on-premise. The data-handling design is agreed in writing before the proof of value starts.
How accurate is extraction from old drawings?
Good enough to be useful and never trusted blindly. The pipeline extracts, scores confidence and routes low-confidence items to an engineer. Accuracy improves as your drawing conventions are learned; we report it on every batch.
Do we need clean data before starting?
You need some data. Part of the proof of value is finding out how clean it really is — that is often the most valuable output of the first month.
What does a proof of value cost?
Fixed price, agreed up front, scoped to one use case and four to eight weeks. If it does not save the hours we estimated, you have a clear answer for a small spend.
Can you work with Creo, Inventor or NX users?
The automation and extraction work is CAD-agnostic in principle, but our depth is SOLIDWORKS and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. For other CAD systems we scope the integration honestly before committing.
