Industry Industrial Machinery

Every machine is different. The engineering should not start from zero.

Conveyors, cranes, gates, presses, packaging lines, special-purpose machines: each order is a known design with new dimensions, loads and options. We put the rules into a configurator, the drawings into automation, the data into PDM and the validation into simulation, so engineers review instead of re-draw.

The challenge

Engineer-to-order, with the engineering on the critical path

Sales promises a delivery date before engineering has seen the order. The senior engineer who knows the rules is re-modelling last month’s machine with new numbers. Drawings reach the shop with errors because they were edited by hand. The ERP has a BOM that does not match the model. Every one of these is a rules problem, a data problem or an integration problem, and all three are solvable.

  • Quotation and general-arrangement drawings in hours with a configurator
  • Dimensioned production drawings, cut lists and BOMs generated with the model
  • One release workflow in SOLIDWORKS PDM or 3DEXPERIENCE
  • Structural, fatigue and motion checks before steel is cut
  • BOMs and item masters pushed to ERP or Tally on release
  • CAM programs and inspection plans from the released model
  • Weldment and sheet-metal practice standardised across the drawing office
  • Spares catalogues and manuals generated from CAD
What we deliver first

Where the hours go back

CFG

Product configurators

Rules captured once from your senior engineers; every variant generated from a form. Quotation time typically from days to hours.

DWG

Drawing automation

Production drawings to your templates, with cut lists and BOMs, produced with the model and checked automatically before release.

PDM

PDM and release control

A vault with one workflow, so the shop always builds the current revision and the ERP always has the released BOM.

SIM

Structural and motion simulation

Frames, lifting gear and mechanisms validated in SOLIDWORKS Simulation before fabrication, delivered as a report with recommendations.

FAQ

Questions from this sector

Our products are 80% standard. Is a configurator worth it?

That is exactly the profile where it pays back fastest. The first family is a fixed-price proof of concept; you see the hours saved before committing further.

We run Tally. Can CAD data really flow into it?

Yes. Item masters and BOMs are pushed to Tally on release through its XML interface. Many of our machinery customers start there.

Our drawings are in AutoCAD. Do we have to convert everything?

No. Convert the active product families to 3D for automation; keep the archive in DraftSight with PDM revision control.

Can you validate a crane or a lifting frame?

Structural, fatigue and motion analysis to the relevant IS or EN codes, delivered as a signed report through Engineering KPO.
