DraftSight

Professional 2D drafting that feels familiar to anyone who has used AutoCAD, at a fraction of the cost — and the only 2D package that plugs straight into SOLIDWORKS, PDM and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Concile supplies, deploys and trains, and migrates your legacy drawing library with you.

Overview

Keep 2D where 2D still makes sense

Most manufacturers still live with a large DWG archive — shop drawings, plant layouts, P&IDs, supplier files — and a handful of people whose whole day is 2D. DraftSight gives those users a full-strength drafting tool with the commands, aliases and workflows they already know, while the rest of the company works in 3D. Because it reads and writes DWG natively there is no translation step, and because it connects to SOLIDWORKS PDM and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, 2D files finally get the same version control as the 3D models.

Why it pays back

What changes when your 2D seats move to DraftSight

₹

A fraction of the licence cost

Replace high-cost 2D seats one for one. Most customers recover the switch in the first renewal cycle, and the saving compounds every year after that.

DWG

No retraining, no conversion

Drafters keep their muscle memory and their files. Open the DWG, work, save — suppliers and customers never know you changed tools.

3D

2D and 3D under one roof

Place SOLIDWORKS views in 2D sheets, round-trip between DraftSight and 3D, and check 2D drawings into the same PDM vault as the models.

Editions

Four editions, two engines

Professional and Premium are single-user subscriptions for individuals. Enterprise and Enterprise Plus carry the same features respectively, add floating network licensing and reseller support, and are the right choice from two seats upwards. DraftSight Mechanical adds part referencing and automatic BOMs for mechanical drawing offices.

How Concile delivers it

Migration, standards and support — not just a licence key

A 2D migration goes wrong in the details: fonts, plot styles, block libraries, title blocks. We handle those before your drafters touch the new tool.

  • Audit of your DWG archive, fonts, CTB/STB files and block libraries
  • Template, title-block and standards setup to match your current output
  • Network licence server installation and silent deployment
  • Half-day transition training for AutoCAD users; full course for new drafters
  • PDM or 3DEXPERIENCE connection so 2D gets revision control
  • Scripted clean-up of large legacy libraries on request

FAQ

Questions we get asked most

Will our existing AutoCAD drawings open correctly?

Yes. DraftSight reads and writes DWG natively across all versions, including dynamic blocks, Xrefs, layouts and annotations. In migrations we run a sample batch first and resolve font and plot-style mapping before go-live.

Is it really like AutoCAD to use?

The command line, aliases, layer manager and most keyboard habits carry over. Experienced drafters are usually self-sufficient within a day; we run a short transition workshop to cover the differences.

Which edition should a company buy?

From two seats upwards, Enterprise or Enterprise Plus: floating licences mean a pool of five can serve ten occasional users, and you get support from our engineers rather than a forum. Choose Plus if anyone needs 3D or constraint-driven sketching.

Does it run on Mac?

Yes. DraftSight supports Windows and macOS. Linux is not supported in current releases.

Can DraftSight files go into SOLIDWORKS PDM?

Yes. The PDM add-in lets drafters check in, check out and revise DWG files from inside DraftSight, with the same workflows and approvals as SOLIDWORKS models. The 3DEXPERIENCE connector offers the equivalent on the cloud platform.

Perpetual or subscription?

Enterprise editions are available as yearly terms or as perpetual licences with annual maintenance. Individual editions are subscription only. We’ll quote both so you can compare the three-year cost.

Is there a trial?

Dassault Systèmes offers a 30-day full-feature trial. We can also set up a pilot with your own drawings and standards.
