Visualisation & Technical Documentation

Your CAD files already contain the product. SOLIDWORKS Visualize turns them into photographic images, animations and VR for sales and marketing; SOLIDWORKS Composer turns them into exploded views, assembly instructions and service manuals; eDrawings lets anyone open and mark them up. Concile supplies all three and trains the non-CAD teams who use them.

Overview

Content for the people who never open CAD

Marketing waits for the prototype to photograph it; the service team draws exploded views by hand; a supplier asks for a viewer to open a model. All three problems have the same answer: the CAD data already exists, it just needs a tool that non-engineers can use. Visualize renders SOLIDWORKS models with physically accurate light and materials, and updates when the design changes. Composer builds illustrations, animations and step-by-step instructions from the same assembly and keeps them current through engineering changes. eDrawings gives anyone a free, secure viewer with measurement and mark-up.

Why it pays back

What changes when documentation comes from the model

IMG

Launch before the prototype

Catalogue images, configurator renders and launch videos are produced from CAD weeks before the first unit exists, and every colour and option variant is a click, not a reshoot.

ECO

Manuals that stay current

Composer content is linked to the assembly. When engineering changes a part, the exploded view, the balloons and the instruction step update instead of going stale.

↗

Fewer support calls

Clear, animated assembly and service instructions reduce installation errors and field calls. Interactive 3D in the manual beats a 2D PDF every time.

FAQ

Questions we get asked most

Is Visualize included with SOLIDWORKS?

Visualize Standard comes with SOLIDWORKS Design Professional and Premium on subscription. Professional, which adds animation, VR, configurations and network rendering, is a separate licence.

Does the marketing team need a SOLIDWORKS licence?

No. Visualize and Composer are stand-alone applications. A SOLIDWORKS user exports or links the model; marketing and documentation work in their own tool.

Can Composer read files from other CAD systems?

Yes — Creo, Inventor, STEP, IGES and others, as well as SOLIDWORKS. That makes it useful even in mixed-CAD companies and for supplier data.

How do we keep manuals current when the design changes?

Composer content stays linked to the source assembly; Composer Sync re-publishes automatically when a new revision is released from PDM. Views, balloons and animations update rather than being redrawn.

What hardware does Visualize need?

Any modern workstation works; an NVIDIA GPU with 8 GB or more makes interactive rendering fast and enables the AI denoiser. We’ll check your machines before purchase.

Is eDrawings secure for sending to suppliers?

Yes. eDrawings files are view-only, cannot be converted back to CAD, and measurement can be disabled by the author. Professional lets suppliers mark up and send comments back into the SOLIDWORKS file.
